National Park Ecosystem Project

Our national government is facing a financial crisis in most part due to our energy consumption.  Oil, natural gas, and many other natural resources are lying unused in national parks across the United States.  This has led to a decision to close many of our national parks. Only four parks will be saved. You and your partner will choose a park.  You will work together to create a presentation that you feel will convince congress to vote to save your park.

Your presentation must include the location of the park, a brief history, sights to see and things to do in the park, information about the biotic and abiotic factors that make up the ecosystem, and a food chain.  Be sure our government officials also know what rules and regulations must be followed to care for the environment in which your park is located. You and your partner will split these research and presentation requirements.  You will each do half of the research and will choose a project from the menu to share the information you have gathered.

Below are student samples of projects others have completed.
